This international conference brings together stakeholders working in skills development, lifelong learning, and the future of work. The event builds on previous conferences held in 2019 and 2023, which attracted more than 350 participants from 37 countries. In addition, digital conferences were organized in 2021 and 2025. For 2027, we expect strong international participation once again, with particularly high representation from Norway and the Nordic countries.
The theme for 2027 is “Lifelong Learning for Sustainable Societies and Employability.”
The future of work ecosystem is changing rapidly. Digitalisation, the green transition, and artificial intelligence are shaping both competence requirements, work processes, and learning methods. At the same time, the need for inclusive solutions is growing solutions that enable more people to participate and develop throughout their working lives.

The ICDE Prize of Excellence 2025 for Institutions was awarded Centre for Lifelong Learning at The University of Inland Norway at the ICDE World Conference 2025 in New Zealand.
This is more than an academic conference. It is a strategic arena where the education sector, industry, public sector, government authorities, and EdTech actors meet to discuss concrete solutions and establish new forms of collaboration.
Participants will include leaders and staff from higher education and vocational colleges, training managers in both private and public sectors, representatives from government authorities and labour-market partners, as well as key actors in the EdTech industry.
We hope you will become one of our sponsors for the Lillehammer Lifelong Learning ICDE Conference 2027, where we offer the following sponsorship packages:
Best option for companies and corporations to get more visibility and participation
Best option for companies and corporations who want the best visibility and participation
We hope one of these packages will be of interest to you and would be happy to schedule a meeting to discuss a potential sponsorship collaboration.
